International Consulting Experience

  • Serving as a Management Consultant and Vice President, developed a three-year exit strategy based on integrity and financial preservation to accomplish the termination of operations for a $35m Japanese manufacturing company.  Working with the U.S. and Japanese management team, the execution of this strategy required the win-win cancellation of customer and supplier contracts, precise manufacturing process elimination, 280 employee termination packages, industrial revenue bond retirement, financially viable inventory reduction and sale, equipment sale and removal, environment regulation compliance, real estate divestiture, corporate-ending tax and financial statements, corporate dissolution, and final record storage.

  • Serving as Controller and Vice President of Finance, transitioned a $20m distribution company of specialty compressors through a buyout by a Brazilian and Italian compressor manufacturer, both the subsidiary of Whirlpool Corporation.  After the finalized sale, provided Executive and operational oversight of merging the Chicago office with Atlanta and the subsequent elimination of all Illinois offices. Managed the organizational changes resulting from the merger and the implementation PeopleSoft Software.  Provided Executive Coaching services to the Brazilian President, assisting in the development of American business skills.  Managed the subsequent growth of the business to $60m over a two year period. Negotiated final settlement of debt with Italian subsidiary.

  • Serving as Controller and utilizing financial and commodity skills, maximized the fiber optic inventory of a $40m subsidiary of a British cable manufacturer.  Proper scheduling, utilization of inventory, waste and scrap analysis, and engineering design generated $2m in bottom line profits over a two year period.

  • Serving as Interim CFO, developed and implemented a manufacturing inventory business plan to improve product turnover, reduce investment levels, significantly improve cash flow, and improve material margins ($14m inventory level).

  • Serving as Interim Vice President of Finance, developed contribution margin statements (variable and fixed cost statements) designed to analyze the full impact of manufacturing, distribution, marketing product mix targets, and business segment contribution.

Business Turnaround Management

  • Serving as President, implemented a business segment turnaround and business sale strategy of a $3m specialty manufacture of MICR toner cartridges. Experiencing three years of $100k+ losses, the turnaround effort doubled sales, tripled profits, significant cash flow improvements, improved manufacturing efficiency, and reduced headcount.  This business segment sold for eight times EBITDA.

  • Serving as a Consulting Vice President, implemented a turnaround strategy of a professional services division of a software company with $6m in revenue.  Software sales increased by 80% in six months due to improved customer service, technical support, efficient implementation services.
